Every Titty is Pretty
Soon after I started my Instagram account that showed off my Titty designs, I started to receive many requests to add mastectomy boobies into my designs. I loved this idea so much and I am so grateful it was brought to my attention. It took a few tries, but once I got it down, they turned out so cute.
They were so well received, that I decided to make a Brave Boobies collection featuring a variety of mastectomy scars to promote body positivity and confidence.
My relation to Breast Cancer
I've also received some questions about my relation to breast cancer and so I thought I would share a little. I am not a breast cancer survivor. However, like many others, I have too many close connections to it. Specifically, there are 2 very important people to me that I never got the chance to meet because they lost their lives to breast cancer:
- I never met my dad's mom, my grandma. She passed long before I was born. I hear that I share a resemblance to her and have always wished that I got the chance to know her.
- My husband lost his mother to a long battle with breast cancer a couple years before I met him (11 years ago).
From all the things that I've learned about my mother-in-law, I know that we would have instantly connected. As a new mother, and my husband a new daddy, I really miss her... even though I never got the chance to meet her. It breaks my heart when I think about how much she would have loved to see her son become such an incredible dad. And how she would have loved to meet her first grandchild.
Giving Back
From 2013-2019, my husband and I have fundraised and participated in the Komen Race for the Cure in LA, now called the, "More Than Pink Walk." And in 2019, our team raised so much money that we were given our own tent on the event day. We did not participate in 2020 because it was 4 weeks after our son was born (coincidently, right before the pandemic shut everything down), however, we still made our annual contribution.
Now that I have my own business, I have decided to donate a portion of my proceeds to breast cancer research and patient support. After doing some research and listening to suggestions from our amazing communi-Titty, I chose to make annual contributions to METAvivor, a foundation that supports those living with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer (MBC).
Be sure to check out my mastectomy Boobie designs now available in my Brave Boobies collection. The most popular item is the Hot Tits Mug, which makes the perfect gift to show your support to your loved one battling breast cancer.
And if you are breast cancer fighter, warrior, survivor, previvor... You are amazing! I cannot even imagine what you are going through. Stay strong! I hope my designs bring smiles to you.
Remember to Check Your Titties
Just a friendly reminder! Please check your Titties. It is quick and easy to do. And the more familiar you become with your own breasts, the more likely you are to notice if there is anything unusual going on.
Try it in the shower, in front of the mirror or laying down. It is recommended to do a self exam once a month. So make sure to feel your Titties. And if you see or feel something that does not feel right, reach out to your healthcare professional. Here are a handy set of resources from the National Breast Cancer Foundation that are worth a read.
