Hot Tits! Coming Through!

The story behind the Best-selling, Hot Tits Mug

The Hot Tits mug was truly a group effort with our instagram community! Right from the start, I received requests to make a mug. With everyone brewing at home, including myself, I knew I had to make it happen.

And so I began researching. Here is the list of requirements that was important for the Hot Tits Mug...

• For me to paint on a mug, it needs to withstand the oven for the design to bake on... So, something glass, ceramic or stoneware.
• The final product needs to be able to handle liquids.
• I have to make sure that the design won't wash off and can handle daily washing.
• It must be safe to drink from.
• Oh! And unique.

And then, testing...

I ordered several mugs to paint on and started to test them out. I realized quickly that 2 items from my requirements were not making the cut:

• It must be safe to drink from.

Finally, I came to the conclusion that in order to ensure the mugs could safely withstand every day use, I would need to print my design on these mugs.

Local Partnership

Since I am a small business, it is important to me that I support other small and local businesses. I reached out to an old colleague that works with many local vendors to help me find the right, local shop to help fulfill this order. But first, we needed to select the type of mug!

My Mug must have list:

1. It needs to have the largest possible printing area so that my Signature Design could wrap around the entire mug.
   Turns out the best mug for this purpose is one with a straight edge (a curvy surface is difficult to print on).
   
2. It needs to be a unique mug!

Instagram, FTW

I needed to know what YOU liked. I wanted to choose a mug that would be unique and become a loved addition to your morning routine. So, I went to my IG stories and polled several mug options for you to vote on!

And Voila! The Hot Tits mug was selected. It's features:

• Large 16oz capacity
• Low profile
• Matte white exterior
• Glossy black interior - To hide coffee and tea stains!
• Microwave safe
• Can be washed in the dishwasher... I recommend to hand wash for best results!

Once we had the mug, it was time to place an order. I hosted a pre-sale until I got enough orders to purchase the initial batch! To my surprise, I reached this goal in one weekend, and on the following Monday, the order was placed.

The Hot Tits Brave Boobies Edition

Soon after getting lots of interest in the Hot Tits Signature Mug, I received some requests to make a version of my design that included mastectomy scars. I heard the need, and was so excited that people were interested in what I was working on... So, I started to draw up the design.

Once it was ready, I shared it with our instagram community and hosted another pre-sale to fund the order. It wasn't long until we were off to the presses with the Brave Boobies version.

Flying off the shelves

The first batch of mugs arrived early February. It was so perfect, because they made it just in time to make it out for Valentine's Day! With piles of orders to fill, I enlisted help from my husband to assemble boxes and even my little one wanted to join in on the fun! (TBH, my son was not much help, hehe...)

Since the pre-order, these mugs have continued to be one of my bestselling items in my shop!

It is a great mug that is a big hit with new moms, breastfeeding moms, lactation consultants, and pretty much anyone that celebrates women and body positivity. Plus, they make the best gifts and add smiles to your morning routine!

Coffee or TitTea?
