Estimated read time: 18 minutes
Can we talk baby showers for a hot minute?
Now, we LOVE a baby shower. Who doesn’t love the opportunity to celebrate a gorgeous new bundle of joy coming into the world?
You get to hang out with your Breasties, play some games, eat and drink, and get excited about the new baby. Yep, at baby showers, the new arrival is always the center of attention.
But, that kinda got us thinking.
We spend so much time and effort celebrating the new baby, that we tend to forget about the most important person. The mama.
Moms and moms-to-be are rockstars, and at Titty City Design, we think they deserve their own special day. A day just for them. A mommy shower. And if you feel like your Breast Friend needs a little extra love and TLC before her baby arrives, then read on for amazing mommy shower ideas. We’re going to show you our favorite mommy shower ideas, including baby shower gifts for mom not baby.
Treat your Breastie to a "Pamper the Mom" baby shower and make her feel as special as you know she is.
"Pamper the Mom" Baby Shower
A pampering mom shower can be a welcome distraction from the doctor visits, morning sickness, and other things that can exhaust the mom-to-be.
Depending on her situation and wishes, there are so many ways to mark the occasion of your Breast Friend becoming a mama.
A traditional baby shower is lovely, but we want to focus on making the mama-to-be the star attraction, and not just the baby. It can be very easy for a woman to lose herself after having a baby, so this celebration is a way to show her how loved and important she is.
Branching away from tradition and creating your own, bespoke experience for her will give her the most beautiful memories of this special time. And, best yet, there are no rules! You can do anything that reflects her interests and passions, and make it a truly unforgettable day.
Looking for mom shower ideas? Here are four of our favorite mommy shower ideas to shower her with love.
#1 The Bestie Babymoon
A lot of couples grab hold of this idea by the horns. And we don’t blame them!
A fun and relaxing trip to focus on them before their impending arrival.
So, why not organize a bestie babymoon? Get together with the mama-to-be and make a list of all her nearest and dearest gal pals, as well as any family members she wants to be there with her such as her mom, mother-in-law, sisters, aunts, cousins, etc.
So she doesn’t have to do any organizing, think up some fun places you can all go together. You might want to consider the location if she’s close to her due date and doesn’t want to stray too far from home. Look into hotels, activities, restaurants, and costs, and present her with a few options all clearly thought out. Unless, of course, you want to keep it a total surprise, which can be so much fun.
If cost is an issue... and you want to plan something on a budget, then create a pampering spa experience at someone’s home. You can organize a masseuse to come and pamper the guests, a beautician for manis and pedis, and even facials.
Plan food options and create a menu that you can make yourself or take-out services from her favorite restaurants. Turn your home, or another guest’s home, into a zen-like haven with decorations, mood lighting, soothing music, and sleeping arrangements for the guests (if you want to make a weekend out of it).
Then treat her to an amazing, special couple of days that focus entirely on her. She’ll love it.
#2 The Sisterhood Soiree
Does the mama-to-be love to let loose and party?
Then a fun-packed night out with her Breasties will be the perfect way to celebrate her.
When baby arrives, she most likely won’t want to go out partying for a while, so organize a slammin’ night out before the big day, where she can hang out, dance, and have fun just being herself.
Make a guest list of everyone she would love to be there and book a table at her favorite restaurant. Treat her to a yummy meal, some mocktails, and even a few games before heading to a club where she can shake her belly and dance the night away with her Breast Friends.
Ensure the club has plenty of non-alcoholic options so she doesn’t feel like she’s missing out, and request her favorite songs to be played. You could also speak to the venue about hiring a private seating area so she always has somewhere safe she can rest when she needs to take the weight off.
Think of this mommy shower idea like a bachelorette party and treat her like the queen she is.
#3 The Craving Celebration
Does your mama-to-be have a few food cravings?
From pizza to noodles, to peanut butter and cheese sandwiches…we’ve all been there!
This mommy shower idea will celebrate those cravings, and allow her to indulge with her Breast Friends.
Find out everything your friend has been craving over the months and take note of any food aversions (yep, there could be plenty of those!). Set a date with her guest list and choose a venue. It might be easier to do this in someone’s home, so you can decorate and everyone can come in comfy clothes – because no one wants to wear tight pants when eating is the main attraction.
Create a menu featuring all her cravings. You can make this an all-day thing, or just focus on one particular meal, depending on how she’s feeling. Then call up take-out places and arrange for the food to be delivered when it suits you.
Set up a mocktail bar at home, or hire a professional to make them for you to add some pizazz. Then, let the food-times roll, sit back, turn on your playlist, switch on some movies, and enjoy a special day with the mama-to-be as she indulges her cravings and celebrates being with her Breasties.
#4 The Village
The proverb goes... It takes a village to raise a child. And it sure does! However, so often in modern times, the village can be quite small and sometimes quite far away, too.
This mom-to-be shower idea is great for guests near and far. For gifts, make sure to be specific that all gifts should be to shower the mama or essentials for the first few months postpartum.
For those that are in person, ask them to bring a pack of diapers (because we know newborns go through SO many diapers)! The host should provide permanent markers and have all the guests write funny or encouraging messages to the parents on the diapers. This is a thoughtful way to offer support during all the late-night and early-morning diaper changes.
Examples of messages:
- This one is extra stinky
- I love you Mommy
- It's only temporary
- You are doing a great job
- At least I'm cute
- This one is for Daddy
- Oops, I did it again
- Warning: Toxic!
Next, make a set of sign-up lists and ask all the guests to volunteer:
- Making meals to drop off
- Grocery shopping
- Coffee runs
- Errands
- Laundry
- Dog Walking
- "Mommy Breaks" to give tired mama some time to shower, rest, or get some fresh air without the baby.
Those who are unable to physically help in person, can "sign up" by contributing a gift card to meal delivery apps such as DoorDash and UberEats. Alternatively, they can arrange for a cleaning service.
Through the first weeks postpartum, keep in mind that physical and emotional support is the best gift of all. So make a mental note to remind guests to check in with the Mama-to-be once baby comes along.
To complete this Mommy Shower theme, have some paper and pens or markers out and ask the guests to write heart-felt notes to the expecting mama. Share words of encouragement, love, and support. Remind them that although this time is going to be tough, it will not last forever.
Baby Shower gift ideas for mom, not baby

It is designed with our encouraging breastfeeding slogan, "Simply the Breast!" on the right sleeve, and is seriously the softest material. This sweatshirt is a must for every mama.

Not only are these so flipping cute, but also they are super nice quality. These boob socks are cozy and thick with extra cushion and the design is woven right into the fabric.
